Description

Rooted in the understated elegance of interwar-era footwear, the Chelsea boot has endured through generations for its clean silhouette and effortless versatility. The 1939 Craft Chelsea reinterprets this classic through a considered approach to design and traditional bootmaking.

Built on our proprietary 1939 Last, the boot features a near-wholecut upper that allows the leather to flow almost uninterrupted from the toe to the shaft. Its low almond-shaped toe, exceptionally tapered waist and minimal external stitching create a refined silhouette that moves naturally between tailored trousers, chinos and denim. Whether dressed up or worn casually, it brings a considered finish to everyday dressing.

The upper is crafted from 1.8–2.0 mm full-grain water buffalo leather and fully lined with water buffalo leather. Beneath the clean exterior lies substantial traditional construction, including a vegetable-tanned leather insole and midsole, natural cork filler and a steel shank. A 270-degree Goodyear welt joins the upper to our Anvil Heritage full rubber outsole, providing a foundation designed for long-term wear and resoling by a qualified specialist.
