Description

Inspired by the iconic Vietnam-era Jungle Boot, our interpretation reimagines the original military specification through the lens of traditional heritage bootmaking. Built using premium materials and fully rebuildable construction, it preserves the spirit of the original while embracing the craftsmanship and longevity expected of a modern heritage boot.

Built from 1.8–2.0mm full-grain water buffalo leather and paired with exceptionally robust double-layer waxed canvas quarters, this is a boot designed not for a single deployment, but for years of wear, patina, repair, and rebuilding.

Limited to 200 pairs.

Materials

  • 1.8–2.0mm full-grain water buffalo leather

  • Double-layer waxed canvas quarters (~40oz combined)

  • Single-layer waxed canvas tongue with partially gusseted construction

  • ~4mm+ vegetable-tanned leather insole, counters, and midsole

  • ~3mm vegetable-tanned leather welt

  • All-natural cork footbed and steel shank

  • Unstructured toe box - designed to age beautifully with wear.

  • Newly developed Commando Half Sole & Heel utilizing the same nitrile rubber compound found in our Anvil Heritage Soles

  • Any boot or shoe crafted in BORO leather will feature black outsoles, black welts, and black stitching as standard, with the exception of the Helljumper, which follows its own specifications.

  • Black Oiled Roughout (BORO) is hand-finished with oils and waxes, resulting in natural variations in texture, sheen, wax distribution, and appearance. When new, the leather may appear smooth and heavily waxed; with wear, the waxes will gradually recede, revealing the natural roughout texture beneath and developing unique character over time.

  • Minor color transfer or bleeding may occur when the leather is new or exposed to moisture, friction, heat, or perspiration. These are natural characteristics of heavily waxed leathers and are not considered defects.
